The world’s first dual-screen mobile phone is all set to release its second version to the European market. Yotaphone 2 will be available for the European market starting this week. The phone will go on sale this month in Russia at RUB 33,000 (approximately Rs. 37,500).
The YotaPhone 2 features a 5-inch full-HD AMOLED display with resolution of 1080×1920 pixels offering a pixel density of 442ppi. It supports nano-SIM sports a 4.7-inch black and white e-paper display with qHD (540×960 pixels) display. The phone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz with 2GB of RAM and it will come with Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. 74% of the device’s surface is touchscreen.
It comes with a 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It packs a 2500mAh battery and supports wireless charging. Connectivity options on the YotaPhone 2 include Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac), Micro-USB, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, A-GPS, and GLONASS. The smartphone boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on both the dual-screens.It includes sensors such as accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. It measures 144.9×69.4×8.95mm and weighs 145 grams.
On Oct 17 2014, Flipkart had launched the first version of Yotaphone in India at a price tag of Rs.23,499. The new yotaphone will be available in 20 European nations this year; and will enter consumer markets in China and the rest of Asia-Pacific in early 2015, after which it will be marketed in Canada and Latin America.
