Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi today sold more than Rs 970 crore worth of goods in less than 12 hours. The sale took place over “Mi Fan Festival” which is nothing but a 12-hour flash sale.

During the sale, the company sold 13,000 units of its flagship Mi 3 and entry-level Red Mi smartphones apart from a lot of accessories. Xiaomi provides software update every Friday based on features requested by its users. The marketing strategy of Xiaomi is very different from the rest of its competitors. It creates buzz by having an online-only retail model and sells only a pre-defined number of devices.



Xiaomi is soon going to step-in in Indian market and hence we can expect the same model of marketing in India.
