Speed Test Compares iOS 10 Beta 2 Against iOS 9.3.2

Apple rolled out its second iOS 10 beta on Tuesday. The release brings lots of big changes and improvements, including the iMessage App Store, support for larger widgets, and the ability to sign up as an organ donor. But is it any faster than iOS 9.3.2? Find out in the speed test below!

iOS 10 has already been put through its paces once, and it was found that the first beta didn’t really bring any noticeable performance improvements over iOS 9.3.2 — especially on newer iOS devices. So will beta 2 be any different?

YouTube channel iAppleBytes quickly put it up against Apple’s most recent public iOS release on Tuesday on an iPhone 6s and an iPhone 5S. Once again, iOS 9.3.2 is slightly faster at booting up, but both releases are pretty much on par when loading common apps like Messages.

iOS 9.3.2 also appears to be slightly faster at loading content from the web in apps like Safari, Maps, and YouTube. However, as noted by iAppleBytes, these videos were recorded in a hotel room on vacation, so we can’t rely on the Wi-Fi speeds.

As we noted after the iOS 10 beta 1 speed tests, we shouldn’t read too much into these results just yet. Apple will continue to make changes and improvements to iOS 10 ahead of its public debut this fall, so performance will likely be a lot different closer to that time.
