A press release by sony warned users of massive bruteforce attack against PlayStation Network (PSN), the Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) and Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) between 7 and 10 October.

According to the Sony’s Chief Information Security Officer, Philip Reitinger, approximately 93,000 accounts globally (PSN/SEN: approximately 60,000 accounts; SOE: approximately 33,000) where the attempts succeeded in verifying those accounts’ valid sign-in IDs and passwords. Sony has temporarily locked these accounts.
