The South Korean electronics manufacturer, Samsung Electronics Co. has teamed up with OpenX Technologies Inc. for its mobile advertising platform. With the combined effort Samsung has announced that they are also launching their own ad platform for mobile which will be known as Samsung AdHub Market.
The service would enable advertisers to place targeted messages on Samsung phones and tablets. The ad space can be purchased within mobile devices both from app developers and Samsung.
Tim Cadogan, OpenX Chief Executive said:
“This is the first time any device manufacturer has entered the ad tech space in this way,”
“It is becoming very clear to the principals in the mobile space that advertising is going to be a very important part of the revenue mix.”
Samsung AdHub Market is expected to arrive in the second half of this year. Samsung launched an AdHub advertising platform for SmartTVs earlier this year.
