Microsoft has officially opened registrations for new Windows 7 users to upgrade to Windows 8.

[box_dark]Microsoft in a tweet announced, “The @Windows upgrade offer is now available in 140 countries. Register now!”[/box_dark]

The upgrade to Windows 8 Pro will be open until January 31, 2013 for $14.99, after that the user will have to pay the full amount to upgrade. The upgrade is available in 140 countries users will be required to provide their 25-digit Windows 7 OEM product key as part of their online registration process. The full price for Windows 8 has not yet been announced by Microsoft. Windows XP and Windows Vista users also have a upgrade to windows 8 for $39.99.
