Pantech a South Korean company has launched a new quad-core beast called The Vega R3 as the company claims it to be “best existing quad-core smartphone”. The Vega R3 features 5.3″ Natural IPS Pro LCD display and resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro clocked at 1.5GHz processor,  2GB of RAM, 13MP rear-facing camera, powered by a 2,600mAh battery and runs on Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system.

[box_dark]Lee Yong-joon, executive vice president of Pantech explains: “Pantech grabbed the No. 2 market share last year. If we properly compete with the iPhone 5, we anticipate reclaiming the position sometime in the first half,”[/box_dark]

Other features also include Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, a microSD card slot, microUSB 2.0, and GPS. Pricing details are not know yet.
