If you are willing to spend $10,000 on a 55″ OLED TV then you will have to wait till 2013. Both the companies Samsung and LG have delayed the shipment of the OLED TV. According to market researchers, it is very difficult to produce OLED panels with acceptable yields (ratio vs. good and defective units).

The displays in general have the yielding problem, larger the display the more problems it is likely to have and making it unusable during manufacturing. So relatively high price of the 55″ OLED TV sets does take that into account. It is not clear when the OLED panels are going to be available in 2013, affordable buyers will just have to wait.
