The newly launched iPad 3 is equipped with Apple’s new A5x processor, where Apple claims the processor to provide four times the performance of the Tegra 3 quad-core processor chip even though they haven’t provided any benchmarks details.
Laptop Mag took benchmark tests with ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime and iPad in GLBenchmark 2.1, found out that Tegra 3 GPU beat the iPads A5x GPU. The A5x processor excelled in giving twice as many frames at twice the speed but when it came to the real world and processing power, the Tegra 3 out performed the iPad three times the benchmark score.
[box_dark]“the quad-core Tegra 3 blew its competitor way as it achieved an overall score of 1,571 to the A5X’s 692. On the integer (1391 to 614), floating point (2408 to 825) and memory subtests (1076 to 784), the Tegra 3 dominated, but the A5X bested it by a small margin of 324 to 266 on the stream subtest.”[/box_dark]
