A Vancouver based Psychometric Consulting company AptiQuant has stated that “There was a clear indication…that the subjects using any version of Internet Explorer ranked significantly lower on an average than others, they tend to resist a change/upgrade of their browsers”, this was related to users cognitive ability.


Roughly 100,000 people from US, Canada, New Zealand, UK, Australia participated in a online Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (IV) test for a time span of 4 weeks and their IQ scores were related to their browser. Mozilla Firefox, Apple’s Safari and Google Chrome users had a slightly higher IQ scores.
