Microsoft.corp has announced that Hotmail will be changes to Outlook.com with complete re-design of the interface based on Microsoft’s Metro UI. The new Outlook will feature Cleaner, more Streamlined User Interface, Integration with Social Networks like Facebook and Twitter, More Powerful Inbox, Emphasis on Privacy and User Control.
The current Hotmail users will be able “Upgrade” under the Options menu of Hotmail, to the new Outlook.com domain and will get new outlook.com email address. This is the latest move by Microsoft to counter Google’s growing popularity of Gmail services. Hotmail was launched in 1996, a free advertising-supported Web email services as Microsoft bought it in 1998 and currently has about 324 million unique visitors world-wide.
