Symantec Corporation is the largest maker of security software for computers, best known for its Norton brand. Group of hacker who call themselves “Lords of Dharmaraja” had leaked a part of Symantec source code few weeks back. Indian hackers offered support to an American man who filed a lawsuit against Symantec Corp by publishing source code from a 2006 version of Norton Utilities.
Hacker from Mumbai (India), YamaTough said via Twitter.
“Pass it on to forensics and win the lawsuit,”
He also tweeted:
“This coming Tuesday behold the full Norton Antivirus 1,7Gb src, the rest will follow,”
The proposed class-action lawsuit claims that Symantec seeks to convince consumers to buy Norton Utilities and PC Tools software programs by scaring them with misleading information about the health of their computers.
The hackers claim that they discovered the information in a hack of India’s military computer network. They say they have discovered within the Indian Spy Programme source codes of a dozen software companies which have signed agreements with Indian TANCS programme and CBI.
