Google launched Google Earth after acquiring Keyhole, Inc in 2005 and 6 years on and Google Earth downloads reach 1 billion. The desktop client, mobile app, and plug-in combination have taken geospacial technology to show us the world in a whole different way than we’d ever known, putting satellite imagery we wanted to see it, right on our computer desktops. To celebrate the one-billionth download, Google launched a new website at www.OneWorldManyStories.com.
