Some of you might have had a 123456 password some time of your life which was obvious and an easy to remember password. It turns out that the French Central Bank (Banque de France) also had 123456 as their password. A french citizen unintentionally breached the French central bank over the phone, who was arrested for ‘Hacking’ and later freed.

This incident triggering a 48-hours shut down of that particular computer system which handles the consumer indebtedness files. The french person was finding his way to paid telephone consumer support system and got Internet forums what he thought was a direct-line to the central bank employees, when a code was asked he entered 123456 and it worked. It also turns out that 654321 would have also worked according tot the mans attorney.
