Yahoo Corp and Facebook Inc have come together and have formed an advertising alliance and have settled their patent suits. Ross Levinsohn, interim CEO of Yahoo and Sheryl Sandberg, Chief Operating Officer at Facebook have sorted out difference and signed new deals entering into “definitive agreements” and advertising partnership. This partnership also includes multi-year tie-up that involved mainly allowing Facebook users to share Yahoo content.

“Under the agreements, which include a patent portfolio cross-license, the parties will work together to bring consumers and advertisers premium media experiences promoted and distributed across both Yahoo! and Facebook. Yahoo! and Facebook will also work together to bring Yahoo!’s large media event coverage to Facebook users by collaborating on social integrations on the Yahoo! site.”[/box_dark]

Facebook has been beefing up its patents arsenal by buy 650 patents and license from Microsoft paying $550m. Yahoo has been provided access to Facebook’s social graph to to boost its social-based advertising as Facebook having “one of the worst performing sites for advertising”
