Facebook hit 1 Billion users geektech

Facebook today said that it now has more than 1 billion users, in the world’s biggest social network. Facebook reached 1 billion monthly active users on  September 14 at 12:45 pm Pacific time includes 600 million mobile users.


Co-founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook status today:

This morning, there are more than one billion people using Facebook actively each month.

If you’re reading this: thank you for giving me and my little team the honor of serving you.

Helping a billion people connect is amazing, humbling and by far the thing I am most proud of in my life.

I am committed to working every day to make Facebook better for you, and hopefully together one day we will be able to connect the rest of the world too.

Since the launch of Facebook it has over 1.13 trillion ‘likes’, 140 billion friend connections and have uploaded 219 billion photos, also seen 17 billion location-tagged posts, including check-ins, and 62.6 million songs which have been played 22 billion times, average user age is 22, and according to independent website Social Bakers, the majority of the Facebook users come from United States over 166 million, followed by Brazil (58 million), India (55 million), Indonesia (47 million) and Mexico (38 million).
