Chinese employees working for Apple are back on news after an explosion at Shanghai-based Riteng Computer Accessory Company is said to have had 61 workers injured. As per local report the explosion took place on Saturday afternoon at a workshop on the fourth floor of the facility. This left 23 people in hospital with burns and another 34 with more minor injuries.

Pegatron Chief Financial Officer Charles Lin told Reuters:

“The factory has not started operations yet. Part of the facility is still under pre-operation inspection and part is running trial production,”

The China’s Yi Cai Daily said that the plant produced back panel parts for the iPad 2.
