Aakash 2 to be upgraded to Ice cream Sandwich
Aakash 2 tablet, which is due to go on sale in couple of weeks will now be upgraded to Android 4.0(Ice cream sandwich).The tablet will initially come with Android version 2.3(Ginger bread), but will be upgraded to Ice cream sandwich in 6 to 8 weeks after the sales start.
Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO of Datawind said in an e-mail”The product development is complete and deliveries are expected to start for Aakash 2 in about two or three weeks” .
Aakash 2 only has 256MB of RAM, 2GB of storage and a single-core 800MHz processor, which doesn’t meet the Ice Cream Sandwich minimum requirements as put forward by google.
Initial pricing is said to be Rs 2,999.
