Well guess it’s no iPhone 4S for mainland China for the time being. Apple has decided to not sale iPhone 4S through their  five retail stores for now. This was a result of hundreds of people who waited overnight in line to grab the new iPhone at the Santilun outlet in Beijing. But they were hugely disappointed to know that Apple decided to not open their outlets to the large gathering due to safety issues.

“Unfortunately we were unable to open our store at Sanlitun due to the large crowd and to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, the iPhone will not be available in our retail stores in Beijing and Shanghai for the time being,” an Apple spokesperson said in a statement sent to Reuters.

They crowds reaction was not pleasant and started throwing eggs at the store, police were called eventually and the crowd soon dispersed.  Situations at the other 4 stores were not so dramatic and iPhone 4S were sold very quickly in those outlets.
