Nike launches the Nike+ API developer portal

Nike, a multinational corporation popularly known for its footwear and apparel has opened up its APIs on the company developer site today. This mean now the developers have a way to hook into the data all those FuelBands and SportWatches generate.

Thenextweb website reports:

The new portal has been launched to coincide with the Nike+ Accelerator program, an initiative being organised alongside renowned startup accelerator TechStars to find companies that will “use Nike+ technology to create products and services that will inspire athletes across a broad range of activity and health goals.”

For all those developers out there, Nike is taking applications for its Nike+ Accelerator until February 3. So hurry up and start with the build. The Nike+ Accelerator is definitely an innovative idea which will keep fitness and technology industry up and running.
