Nokia to take on Android with their low end Windows Phone Devices, CEO of Nokia Stephen Elop has revealed with investors that they are going to compete with Google’s Android OS by releasing affordable Windows phone, and their strategy would be to compete wit Android with their Lumia devices and Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform.

Nokia is looking forward to release cheaper devices in future under the name Lumia.

“We need to compete with Android aggressively,” said Elop. “The low-end price point war is an important part of that.”

“We had plans already to go lower than the 610,” he said, and with support from Microsoft’s engineering teams Nokia has identified “ways to go even further than we anticipated.” Elop believes Nokia has to remain focused on Windows Phone and to “broaden the price point range that we’re pursuing with Lumia.”

This is going to make it very interesting to see Android and Windows battle. We need to wait and see what Microsoft and Nokia are going to Plan for these Cheaper windows phone.
