Although Apple couldn’t manage to stop launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S III smartphone in US but it sure has managed to block the sale of the obsolete Galaxy Tab10.1. Apple.Inc has successfully won legal victory against Samsung in a US Court. US District Judge Lucy Koh granted Apple a preliminary injunction that would ban the sales of the Samsung company’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the US. This is not applicable for Galaxy Tablet 2 10.1.

[box_dark]“While Samsung will certainly suffer lost sales from the issuance of an injunction, the hardship to Apple of having to compete directly with Samsung’s infringing products outweighs Samsung’s harm in light of the previous findings by the Court.” [/box_dark]

[box_dark]Apple spokesperson Kristin Huguet told AllThingsD that “It’s no coincidence that Samsung’s latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging. This kind of blatant copying is wrong and, as we’ve said many times before, we need to protect Apple’s intellectual property when companies steal our ideas.”[/box_dark]

A a part of agreement Apple have to post a $2.6 million bond to protect Samsung from running in loss. This many be a big blow to Samsung but it is certainly going to appeal it.
