As the legal war continues between the two giant companies Apple and Samsung, it is reported that iFixit and Chipworks have confirmed  iPhone 5’s dual-core A6 processor is an Apple-designed 32nm chip that was produced by Samsung. The tear down also shows that the iPhone 5 also has 1 GB of RAM.

It is assumed that the A6 is being produced at the Austin, Texas plant making A5 and A5X processors made Samsung. The Korean company has invested over $4 billion into that facility last month and doesn’t not seem to have any shortage of demand for the new processor as the iPhone 5 continues to break record sales. However Apple is looking or other alternate chip manufacturers to reduce dependency on Samsung as legal battles continue.
