Angry birds will make their presence felt on the small screen.The superhit game which became a overnight sensation after it was released on Android smartphones as well as PC and mac will become a weekly cartoon TV series later this year – and a film of the game is due in 2015.A total of 52 episodes will be telecasted over a year.One of the most popular game of all time,the game has been downloaded over 700 million times so far and parent company Rovio is now estimated to be worth £5.6 billion, just two years after the game first launched.Angry birds is also the fastest growing game on Facebook.

Rovio animation head Nick Dorra said at a conference in Cannes: ‘Angry Birds will, in the future, be less and less about the slingshot.’ He also promised that the new series will explore, ‘Deeper thoughts, deeper feelings of the characters, such as why are they always angry?

The company  have plans to open branded retail stores for toys, books and T-shirts in China near in future.
